Binational Conference Highlights Conservation |

Bringing together experts from across the water industry and conservation spectrum, Malcolm Pirnie and Red Oak Consulting were co-sponsors of the two-day Binational Water Conservation and System Efficiency Conference, held at the TecH20 Center in El Paso, TX November 9-10. The conference drew over 150 professionals from both the U.S. and Mexico, including participants from utilities, government, and private firms.
Water conservation was at the top of the list of lecture topics, with presentations given on Supply and Demand Side Conservation and Industrial, Institutional and Commercial Conservation, as well as Water Rates and Public Outreach lectures.
Rick Giardina, Director of Financial Services for Red Oak Consulting, presented a lecture on financial stability through rate structure alternatives. He said, "This conference was vital in bringing together some of the leading water professionals from Mexico and several key funding agencies for water and wastewater facilities along the U.S.-Mexico border."
